I have been bleeding from my butt, what causes this?

I’m a 30 year old straight male who occasionly bleeds a little when I wipe. I thought it may be hemroids but have no other symptoms besides the bleeding and an occasional itching. Not to be gross but there are times even after I’m done going tot he bathroom that I feel wet there, and will wipe it and find a small trace of blood.
Could be wiping to hard and causing an anal fissure. Try not wiping as hard, maybe use something like baby wipes/flushables for a while and see if it goes away.
Not to gross you out but maybe have your gf/wife check out that area or get a mirror and a flashlight and see if there is a slight tear down there. OUCH!

Sounds like hemorrhoids to me, as long as the blood is bright red. They don’t have to be very big and can be internal and/or external. If the blood is not bright red, it is probably something else and you need to see a doctor.

You may have an anal fissure, but your symptoms sound like hemroids.
Any bleeding from there should be checked out just to make sure you don’t have a more serious problem (seriously–I just found out that a good friend and coworker is dying of colon cancer).
It might be embarrassing, but ultimately life-saving to get it checked out.

You need to go to a doctor. Most likely he will order a colonoscopy (spelling?) to rule out colon cancer. Your symptoms sound like hemorrhoids. Good luck.

I had this problem for a while. I think it was just hemorroids, but I was too embarassed to go to the doctor, so I ended up having the problem on and off for a few years. It enventually went away on its own, but save yourself the trouble– go to the doctor! Saving yourself the embarassment isn’t worth the damage to your self-esteem and paranoia that not having it taken care of will cause.

Try to keep away from spicy food for a while. Also, if you are overweight try loosing a few kilos/pounds. Both from personal experience. All the best.
